Car show, boutique benefits veterans at Hemet Elks Club

Tony Ault Staff Writer  Shiny classics, antique and custom cars lined the Hemet Elks Club parking lot Saturday, Nov. 2, with drivers and club members showing their support for local veterans and active duty soldiers across the world serving our nation. The proceeds from the car show, boutique, barbecue and raffles sponsored by Hemet Elks Lodge 1740 and Auxiliary will support the Elks’ veterans program. The 27 classic car owners began rolling their entries into the Elks’ parking lot at 1305 W. Florida Ave. about 11 a.m. in hopes of winning one of the six trophies from this year’s car show. Previous Elks’ car show winner Michael Landino with his 1969 Chevy Z28 took the Best Custom Trophy for a second year, while Al Winterer with his completely restored 1932 Olds
