Murrieta Valley Unified board approves agreement with classified employees’ union

The Murrieta Valley Unified School District Board of Education at its Nov. 14 meeting approved a new tentative agreement with the union represents the district’s classified employees.The agreement with California School Employees Association chapter 223, which was reached Oct. 1, grants a 3% raise to all classified non-management staff – a category that includes cafeteria workers, bus drivers and other non-teaching staff.Employees will also be granted an additional 0.26% by 2022 to ensure that all employees meet the $15 per hour statewide minimum wage that will go into effect Jan. 1 of that year.The agreement is retroactive to July 1, 2019.
