Thanksgiving storm dumps rain, snow on region

A winter storm dropped more than 2 inches of rain in some places and even left snow on local mountains over the Thanksgiving holiday.The storm moved in Wednesday, Nov. 27, and by Friday had poured as much as two-and-a-half inches of rain on Beaumont and Murrieta, which were tied for receiving the most rain in Riverside County. Followed by those two cities were the northern portions of Lake Elsinore and Portrero Canyon with 2.41 inches each, Cranston with 2.32 inches, Valle Vista in Hemet and French Valley with both 2.28 inches, Temecula with 2.20 inches, Cabazon with 2.09 inches and Norco with 1.85 inches, according to the National Weather Service.Murrieta Creek swells with rainwater near Old Town Temecula amid the first
