Authorities search for suspects behind illegal cannabis farm near Lake Mathews
RIVERSIDE (CNS) - A search was underway Monday for the suspects responsible for cultivating an illegal marijuana grow just south of Lake Mathews where authorities seized more than 7,000 cannabis plants.The indoor pot farm was uncovered Sunday morning in the 24000 block of Bienvenidos Road, near Candy Lane, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.Sgt. Chad Thompson said that county fire crews were called to the location to knock down a minor fire inside one of the outbuildings on the property and stumbled onto the greenhouse where the roughly 7,400 cannabis plants had been tended.After the fire was extinguished, with minimal damage, deputies took over the investigation and found the plants in various stages of growth, Thompson said.The marijuana plants were co
