SAN JACINTO – About 20 students in grades 4-8 attended Mt. San Jacinto College’s Coding and Robotics Camp on the San Jacinto Campus recently.The free two-day winter session – hosted by MSJC Career Education Wednesday, Jan. 8, and Thursday, Jan. 9 – taught students about computer programming and robotics to enable them to explore subjects they may not otherwise encounter in school.“We want to introduce the kids to programming, including both the hardware and software,” Dwight Duffie, an MSJC Computer Information Systems instructor who served as the camp’s co-instructor, said. “By using this low-cost circuit playground – a microcontroller that costs about $25 – we hope the kids walk away with the
