Animal Friends of the Valleys leads the charge in ending pet overpopulation with free spay and neuter vouchers for residents

WILDOMAR – Animal Friends of the Valleys will celebrate Spay Day USA starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, by handing out over $25,000 worth of vouchers for free spay or neuter to residents of Canyon Lake, Lake Elsinore, Menifee, Murrieta, Temecula and Wildomar.Spay Day USA is a nationwide event that is celebrated on the last Tuesday of February across the United States, whose goal is to help end pet overpopulation by ensuring that pets are fixed and not having unwanted litters.According to the National Council on Pet Population, cats can go into heat at as young as 4 months old, and dogs can have puppies at as young as 5 months old. With 50% of litters being unplanned, it is crucial to have pets sterilized early to help keep pets out of shelters and in their loving homes.Anim
