In his recent column, Harold Pease promotes a common myth – that there has been a nefarious shift in terminology from “global warming” to “climate change.” However, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change was founded – by that name – in 1988, and the scientific journal Climatic Change started in the late 1970s. Also, a recent IPCC report, released in October 2018, is titled “Global Warming of 1.5 C.” For more information, visit https://www.ipcc.ch/about.
