Firefighters were able to contain a brush fire on an open hillside in San Jacinto Thursday morning.The fire was reported at 9:07 a.m. in an area bounded by Park Avenue, which runs as a loop just north of Florida Avenue in eastern Hemet.Cal Fire Riverside tweeted around 10 a.m. that five fire engines were responding to the blaze, which was estimated to be burning about four acres. The Hemet and Soboba fire departments were also assisting, Cal Fire said.The forward spread of the blaze was stopped by 10:20 a.m., and the fire was contained as of 11 a.m., Cal Fire tweeted.11:20 a.m Thursday:Â This story was updated to indicate the fire was contained.
