Man killed in Hemet parking lot shooting

HEMET (CNS) - An altercation that led to a shooting left a man dead in Hemet early Sunday morning, police said.Officers responded at about 1:03 a.m. to the Depot Deli parking lot in the 200 block of West Florida Avenue after receiving a report of a fight followed by a gunshot, according to the Hemet Police Department.Lt. Nate Miller said a 29-year-old man who had been shot was pronounced dead at the scene.Detectives later learned that the victim had gotten into an altercation with another man prior to the gunshot and that the shooter fled in a vehicle, according to Miller.Authorities withheld the victim's name pending notification of his family.Investigators asked anyone who was in the area when the shooting occurred to contact the Hemet Police Department at 951-765-240
