Man struck and killed by vehicle in Hemet

HEMET (CNS) - A man was fatally struck by a vehicle early Saturday, Oct. 31 in Hemet. It happened about 1:25 a.m. in the 600 block of North San Jacinto Street, according to the Hemet Police Department. Investigators said that a man wearing dark clothing was either walking or skateboarding in the No. 2 northbound lane when he was hit by a vehicle traveling in the same lane. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver stopped after the crash and was cooperating with authorities, police said. Investigators said they do not believe the driver was intoxicated, but do not know if the man who was struck was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The name of the man was withheld pending notification of his family. San Jacinto Street was closed between Oakland and Menlo avenues
