County COVID hospitalizations climb with rising case loads

RIVERSIDE (CNS) - Coronavirus hospitalizations climbed another 9% in Riverside County, commensurate with increasing cases countywide, health officials said Wednesday.The aggregate number of COVID-19 cases recorded since the public health documentation period began in early March is 180,537, compared to 176,688 on Tuesday, according to the Riverside University Health System.The number of deaths stemming from virus-related complications stands at 1,951, up eight since Tuesday. The death figures are trailing indicators because of delays processing death certificates, according to officials.COVID-positive hospitalizations countywide are at 1,484, an increase of 117 from a day ago, according to RUHS.
