Front-line workers opting into COVID-19 vaccines hover around 50-60%

Reports have surfaced in Southern California media regarding the percentage or number of front-line hospital workers who have chosen to accept the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine in recent weeks as the first phase, 1A, of vaccinations are nearing completion.Valley News reached out to several local hospitals as well as the county’s executive office for more information.“It is estimated that hospital workers are opting into the vaccine at approximately 50%,” Brooke Federico, Riverside County executive office public information officer, said. “This is only based on the initial offering of the vaccine to local hospital workers, and we expect that as more outreach and education on the safety and efficacy of the vaccine is conducted, the uptake (or percent of those taking the
