Former San Jacinto mayor, council member James M. Conner dies of COVID-19

Former mayor of San Jacinto James Michael Conner died Friday, Jan. 8, from COVID-19 complications. Private family services are planned at Miller-Jones Mortuary.According to Conner’s obituary from Miller-Jones he was born Nov. 16, 1941, He graduated from high school in Fresno and spent the rest of his 78 years in business. After moving to San Jacinto with a degree in ornamental horticulture, he became the wholesale nursery owner of Alta Nursery in San Jacinto for more than 40 years. He enjoyed and raised goats for his children.While in San Jacinto, Conner became active in the community, serving as a member of the San Jacinto Unified School District board of trustees for five years and a member of the San Jacinto City Council, where he twice became the city’s mayor in his nine ye
