Murrieta’s Nichols outduels Temecula’s Craig in Jan. 23 Supercross race
NRG Stadium in Houston was the site of the Saturday, Jan. 23, AMA Supercross competition in which Murrieta’s Colt Nichols outdueled Temecula’s Christian Craig to win the 250SX class main event.“It was an incredible feeling to be able to win,” Nichols said.Craig led the first 14 laps as well as the 16th in the 20-lap race while Nichols led the final four laps as well as the 15th circuit. Nichols had a winning time of 16 minutes 34.030 seconds, which was 3.478 seconds faster than Craig’s time. Jeff Lawrence of Florida finished third and was 16.392 seconds slower than Nichols.
