Recently, the story of the pioneering family of Hans Christensen was aired on YouTube in a presentation from the Menifee Historical Society. A historical monument in Menifee describes one of the earliest settlers coming into Menifee, which is now one of the fastest growing communities in California.The story showed older photos of the wagons that frequented the community and along with it a photo of Christiansen. He immigrated from Denmark finally after traveling across the country on horseback and on foot reached Menifee in 1887 where he bought a ranch for $1 per acre. He grew wheat on his ranch at Holland and Garbani roads, and in 1892 he married Rosetta Holland whose father was farming nearby.The farm continued to grow, and he and his wife had a son, Hans, Jr. and three daughter
