A boy was killed by a vehicle in the unincorporated community of Pine Cove Sunday, March 14.Michael Rigg, a 7-year-old from Beaumont, was struck about 2:50 p.m. in the 5200 block of Sylvan Way, according to the California Highway Patrol.An air ambulance was initially requested and paramedics on the ground performed CPR on the boy while the helicopter was en route, according to a CHP log; however, the Riverside County Coroner’s Office was later called to the scene.The boy was pronounced dead at 3:45 p.m., according to the county coroner’s office, at the Cal Fire Keenwild Station in Idyllwild.
