WILDOMAR (CNS) - A suspicious package dropped behind a Wildomar house on Wednesday prompted a Riverside County sheriff's bomb squad investigation, but the object was ultimately determined not to contain a threat.
The unknown item was located about 1 p.m. in a residential area near the intersection of Frederick Street and Teil Glen Road, according to reports from the scene.
Deputies cordoned off the immediate surroundings and summoned bomb squad technicians, as well as county fire personnel, who staged nearby in case of an explosion.
No evacuations were ordered.
Shortly before 2 p.m., technicians confirmed the contents of the package were harmless, officials said.
The source of the object and the reason it was left at the property were under investigation.
