BANNING (CNS) - A former Hemet Unified School District teacher accused of molesting a girl must stand trial on a charge of committing a lewd act on a minor, a judge ruled today.
Allan Joseph Mikolaycik, 72, was arrested in December 2019 following a Riverside County Sheriff's Department investigation.
After a preliminary hearing at the Banning Justice Center, Superior Court Judge Jorge Hernandez found there was sufficient evidence to warrant a trial on the felony count.
The judge scheduled a post-preliminary hearing arraignment for May 4 at the Banning courthouse. The defendant is free on a $55,000 bond.
Sheriff's investigators allege the molestation occurred in 2015 and involved unspecified acts perpetrated by Mikolaycik.
