RIVERSIDE (CNS) – The city of Riverside is offering a $30,000 reward for information that leads to the identification, apprehension and prosecution of an assailant who fatally shot a 40-year-old father of three as he waited for a bus to go home after work last summer.
Keith Allen of Hemet was gunned down near the intersection of Commerce and Fourth streets, on the east end Riverside, about 6 a.m. last Aug. 21.
Riverside police Officer Javier Cabrera said homicide detectives have turned up few leads, and any help from the public would be welcome.
Allen had just left his factory job and was walking to a Riverside Transit Agency bus stop when he was robbed, then shot. The Texas native died at the scene.
“He left behind three children, a sister and his parents,” according to a family statement released by the police department. “We truly appreciate the detectives and city for their assistance in trying to find the person who committed this senseless act.”
Anyone with information was asked to contact homicide investigators at 951-353-7134, or rpdtips@riversideca.gov.
