Cars collide on Highway 74 near Mountain Center, injuring three

Three people were injured Saturday, April 10, one seriously, in a head-on collision along Highway 74 near Mountain Center.The wreck happened at about 11:15 a.m. on the westbound side of the two-lane corridor, in the area of the 74/243 interchange, according to the California Highway Patrol.The agency said two sedans impacted, but no other details were available.Several Riverside County Fire Department engine crews reached the location within 20 minutes and found three people in need of medical attention.One victim was in critical condition, and a helicopter airlift was arranged to expedite the patient's transfer to a hospital.
