Lake Elsinore City Council receives WRCOG rebate for streetlight retrofit

Lake Elsinore Councilmember Brian Tisdale accepted a rebate check from the Western Riverside Council of Governments on behalf of the city at the regular city council meeting, Tuesday, April 13. The nearly $400,000 rebate was a result of the city’s participation in the Regional Streetlight Program, which was initiated in 2014. A regional LED retrofit of streetlights in 11 participating local governments was completed in fall 2020.Daniel Soltero, senior analyst of WRCOG, explained the successful program and presented before and after photos of the streetlight LED retrofit, showing how the true colors will improve the neighborhoods’ appearance as well as benefit public safety.In addition to providing true colors compared to previous sodium lamps, it supports Palomar Observatory’
