Murrieta City Council passes resolution denouncing hate crimes

Murrieta City Council member Lori Stone proposed the passage of a resolution to condemn hate crimes, racism, discrimination or animus targeting any minority in the United States at the city council’s regular meeting Tuesday, April 20. Stone said she felt it was necessary to make this public declaration after an incident at the 412 Church that occurred before a Jewish Remembrance Day event, April 11. Although the defaming, anti-Semitic flyers around the outside of the Murrieta church were found to be posted by a couple of local teenagers, it raised questions as to what motivated them to commit such a hateful act.
