The Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District approved a cost sharing agreement with the Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District and the City of Lake Elsinore for the restoration of the Lake Elsinore aquatic ecosystem.The 5-0 EVMWD board vote May 27 approves the local cost share funding agreement in which the three agencies will share costs for the feasibility study phase. Each of the three entities will fund $250,000 of the estimated $1.5 million cost while the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will pay for the other $750,000.In 2004 the State Water Resources Control Board declared Lake Elsinore to be an impaired water body due to low dissolved oxygen, fish kills, and excessive algae growth which may be able to be managed in part through ecosystem restoration proj
