The annual From the Heart backpack giveaway was held Aug. 7, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Hamilton High School gym. The event provided much-needed school supplies and more for students in Anza and surrounding communities, to give them the best start for the new school year.“This is a free event for schoolchildren in grades K-12,” organizer Christina James said. “Each child gets a pair of shoes, a package of socks, a loaded backpack and a haircut if needed!”Hemet Unified School District students attending the Anza Hamilton schools need pens, paper, crayons, and art supplies and a backpack in which to safely keep it all.
