CalFresh recipients impacted by fires can recover losses

RIVERSIDE (CNS) - Recipients of government assistance who suffered food losses during last month's fires in Anza and Banning have until Friday to file claims to possibly recoup some or all of what perished.According to the Riverside County Department of Public Social Services, CalFresh recipients impacted by the "Rock" and "Westward" fires may be eligible for additional aid if they can show their state-funded food supplies were destroyed or depleted because of the blazes.The Rock Fire charred about 300 acres and destroyed several residences between Aug. 24-27 in the area of Gully View and Rock Canyon roads in Anza, while the Westward Fire burned 160 acres on the south end of Banning at the end of August."Our hearts go out to all those who have suffered losses in these fires,''
