Split gas line prompts precautionary evacuations in Temecula neighborhood
TEMECULA (CNS) - A ruptured gas line in a Temecula neighborhood prompted precautionary evacuations today while crews made repairs. The natural gas leak was reported shortly before 10 a.m. in the 31700 block of Via San Carlos, just south of Highway 79, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. The gas main was split during unspecified work in the residential area, according to the agency.Two engine crews were sent to the location, and occupants of surrounding homes were asked to evacuate for their safety.
