Suspects trade gunfire in San Jacinto, prompting school lockdowns
A gunfight on the north end of San Jacinto prompted sheriff’s deputies to lock down several school campuses while a search was conducted to find the shooters, none of whom were located, authorities said.The confrontation was reported about 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, in the area of Ramona Boulevard and Tiger Lane, roughly a half-mile south of Mt. San Jacinto College, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.Sgt. Wade Lenton said multiple witnesses called 911 stating three individuals were trading gunfire and running from each other.Deputies converged on the location within a few minutes and established a perimeter, placing San Jacinto High School and neighboring campuses on lockdown while a search was conducted, Lenton said.“No victims were located; ho
