Glider Goes Down at Perris Valley Airport, Pilot Injured

PERRIS (CNS) - A glider went down today on the south edge of Perris Valley Airport, injuring the pilot but not disrupting operations at the airport. The crash was reported about 1:20 p.m. in the area of Goetz and Mapes roads, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. Firefighters reached the location within a few minutes and discovered that the glider had impacted the ground, but it was unclear if it was a hard landing or a nose-dive into the surface, according to the agency.
