SAN JACINTO (CNS) – A 15-year-old boy was gunned down in San Jacinto,
and detectives are still working working to identify the shooter.

The deadly attack happened Sunday morning in the area of First Street
and Sheriff Avenue, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Sgt. Steve Brosche said that the victim, whose identity was not
immediately released, was involved in an unspecified confrontation that
culminated in gunfire.

Witnesses called 911, and patrol deputies arrived minutes later,
learning that the mortally wounded teenager had “fled into an empty field,”
Brosche said.

He said that the teen was found dead in the field.

The shooter was nowhere to be found, and no description was available
Tuesday.

A possible motive was not disclosed.
