The underlying method of helping a firefighter or police officer under stress from frightening and traumatic experiences they have experienced is to listen carefully and say, “That must have been terrible.”For them, it was and will likely be, a traumatic experience hitting so hard that they will try coping with drinking, drugs or other extreme methods, such as suicide. It will stay with them, unless they prepare themselves on how to work through the experience.These topics are the focus of a documentary film called “Florian’s Knights” about a motorcycle club initially formed in Toronto, Canada and now spreading across all of North America from New York to San Diego.
