Murrieta is called ‘phenomenal’ in reaching state’s mandated housing program goals

The Murrieta City Council received a report on the city’s progress in meeting its required General Plan Housing Element 2021 to 2029 to build more affordable housing at its Tuesday, June 6, meeting with Council Member Jon Levell absent.Under the current Regional Housing Needs Assessment as required by state law and provided by Southern California Association of Governments, Murrieta and other cities in California are required to provide affordable housing opportunities for low to moderate income families and have until 2029 to meet those requirements.
