TEMECULA – Pechanga Resort Casino gave Angels Baseball fans the chance to batter up and meet catcher Logan O’Hoppe. The star pro athlete went to Pechanga Resort Casino Thursday, Sept. 14, at the Pechanga Theater for a free meet & greet at the Temecula area resort. O’Hoppe signed one personal item per guest from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Signatures were open to the first 500 guests. Patrons attending the event needed be 18 or older, or accompanied by an adult, to enter the Pechanga Grand Ballroom for the autograph session.
Originally from West Islip on Long Island, New York, O’Hoppe was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 23rd round of the 2018 Draft out of St. John the Baptist High School. He earned minor league All-Star honors in each of his first two full seasons as a professional and represented the Phillies in the 2022 Futures Game at Dodger Stadium.
O’Hoppe was traded to the Angels on Aug. 2, 2022, and was named the top prospect in the organization. Less than two months later, he made his Major League debut on Sept. 28, 2022, vs. Oakland. Earlier this year, he became the first rookie catcher to start for the Angels on Opening Day since Bengie Molina in 2000 and was the youngest Opening Day catcher in franchise history.
