Many entities would be disappointed if they hosted an event which didn’t generate revenues for them. Because disappointment requires not meeting expectations and the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club didn’t expect to make money from the Breeders’ Cup that event was successful even though it didn’t make money for the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club itself.The Santa Anita Park and Los Alamitos Race Course tracks in Southern California are privately owned by for-profit corporations.
