EVMWD board ratifies emergency repair contract for Grand Avenue repaving

The Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District general manager has the authority to award contracts in the event of an emergency, although those contracts must be ratified by the EVMWD board. After a water main leak caused damage to the pavement on Grand Avenue, EVMWD general manager Greg Thomas issued an emergency contract. The EVMWD board ratified that contract on March 13. The board’s 4-0 vote, with Darcy Burke absent, approved the contract with GM Sager Construction, Inc. The contract with the Pomona company is for $130,000. On January 17, a six-inch steel distribution water main failed on Grand Ave and Verde Mesa in the City of Wildomar.
