$15 million Murrieta Hot Springs Road widening project breaks ground

MURRIETA — Murrieta has officially commenced the long-awaited widening of Murrieta Hot Springs Road, a project valued at approximately $15 million. The initiative, designed to address chronic congestion between Margarita Road and Winchester Road (SR-79), promises to enhance traffic flow, bolster safety for both drivers and pedestrians, and improve east-west access throughout the city. The expansive scope of the project includes upgrading Murrieta Hot Springs Road to a six-lane arterial by adding one lane in each direction between Via Princesa East and Delhaven Street, coupled with vital roadway reconstruction, new sidewalks, and bike lanes.
