The Anza Country Cafe celebrated its grand opening Monday, Sept. 7, following weeks of renovations, menu revisions and staff additions. The rebranded eatery opened its doors with new offerings, familiar faces and a welcoming country atmosphere.
“First and foremost, I want to thank everybody that came out to support us,” said co-owner Robyn Garrison. “I am so grateful for every single person that came together to make this event amazing.”
Local barbecue legend Stoney Stone grilled tri-tip and spareribs for the occasion, using locally sourced Knarley Specialty Rubs.
Guests enjoyed fresh country recipes in the newly renovated dining room while visiting with friends and neighbors. Mark Huston and the Workn’ Men band performed popular country and classic rock hits on the patio as guests enjoyed their meals. Face painters were also on hand, decorating patrons with colorful designs.
“This was all new beginnings,” said Garrison. “Having Darlene and Michelle come on board with me to put this all together has created a great team and we hope to be able to fulfill a lot of needs in the community, like being open for dinners and catering.”
Additional plans for the future include Sunday breakfasts and outreach meals for residents in need.
“We’ve been here for nine years and we’re starting over again serving this community,” said Garrison. “Time for a facelift and a change and new beginnings for everyone.”
The Anza Country Cafe is located at 58050 CA-371 in Anza, at the corner of Kirby Rd. and St. Hwy. 371. Hours of operation are Monday – Saturday 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.. Closed Sunday.
