It might be said that Murrieta driver Edward Finger was responsible for not winning the August 29 Hobby Stocks heat race at Barona Speedway because Finger and his father set up the car of Canyon Lake driver David Stites, who won the heat while Finger finished second. Finger passed Stites late in the main event to win the feature with Stites taking second.Stites began the eight-lap heat race on the pole. Drew Madrid of Phoenix began on the outside of the front row, Brawley’s Cody Daffern was on the inside of the second row, and Finger took the original green flag on the outside of the second row.“Nervous to start on the pole, but after a few laps it started to feel a little bit better,” Stites said.Mad
