In the heart of Old Town Temecula, history isn't confined to museums—it lives in the buildings lining Front Street, and few have a more colorful story than the one housing 1909 Temecula. The restaurant opened in September 2014 inside the historic Machado building, but its name reaches back more than a century. After the original structure burned in 1908, it was rebuilt the following year, giving 1909 its name and a direct connection to Temecula's early days. Over the decades, the building served as a trading post, store, auto shop and church before becoming one of the town's most notorious watering holes.
