Police chase suspect dies in Hemet crash
HEMET (CNS) - A man being pursued by law enforcement for allegedly driving under the influence died in a crash that injured two others, police said today.Just after 9 p.m. Friday, Hemet police officers deployed to help San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies with a vehicle pursuit that had entered the city, according to Sgt. Dan Reinbolt.The driver they were trying to catch was in a white Hyundai Sonata heading south on Sanderson Avenue when he crashed into GMC pickup truck heading west on Esplanade Avenue, Reinbolt said.Three people, including the suspect, were injured and taken to a hospital.The suspect, identified only as a 27-year-old from Hemet, later died from his injuries.The two others who were also injured are in stable condition, Reinbolt said.
