HEMET (CNS) - A wind-driven wildfire that broke out today southeast of Hemet burned about 20 acres and consumed a structure before Cal Fire aircraft slowed down the blaze with numerous retardant and water drops.
The non-injury brusher was reported at 3:45 p.m. in the area of Cactus Valley and Sage roads, in an unincorporated community near Diamond Valley Lake, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Four Cal Fire air tankers and two water-dropping helicopters were the first to reach the blaze as it swept over rugged terrain in the sparsely populated area.
An outbuilding was destroyed by the flames, which briefly threatened three to four other structures, officials said.
