Felon accused of fatally shooting Hemet man makes court appearance
BANNING (CNS) - A parolee accused of fatally shooting a 43-year-old Hemet man during a confrontation that possibly stemmed from conflicts over a woman made his initial court appearance Monday, Jan. 11 and was appointed a public defender.
Samuel James Wright, 42, of Hemet was arrested last Tuesday following a weeklong investigation into the death of the victim, identified in court documents only as ``F.R.''
Wright is charged with murder, witness intimidation, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and sentence-enhancing gun and great bodily injury allegations.
The defendant appeared before Riverside County Superior Court Judge Timothy Hollenhorst, who scheduled his arraignment for Jan. 25 at the Banning Justice Center.
