Hemet council approves purchase of new police and fire radio system

The Hemet City Council has approved the purchase of a new high frequency radio system that will replace its outdated system with new equipment and a strong link between the police, fire and other public safety enterprises.The council, with Mayor Pro Tem Linda Krupa absent, Tuesday, Feb. 23, after hearing a lengthy discussion with police Chief Eddie Pust, approved an agreement with Riverside County Public Safety Enterprise Communication System that will enhance better communication between the city’s police and fire departments and other public safety services in the county and state.The council also approved replacing the city’s outdated public safety equipment with better up-to-date hardware and software to join with the PSEC for a purchase price of $141,519.34 for setup and s
