Rabbi Emily JK Holtzman Special to Valley News By this time last year, we still didn’t fully understand the extent to which the pandemic would affect our lives. Jews all over the world scrambled to put together Zoom celebrations for the spring holiday of Passover. Passover is the Jewish celebration of freedom and redemption for the Israelite people. The holiday recounts their journey from slavery in Egypt to freedom in the desert. The Zoom journey was only just beginning for most people in 2020. We hosted Zoom Seders or Zeders as they have become affectionately known, celebrating with family members from all around the world on our screens.
