Man killed in Canyon Lake crash ID’d

LAKE ELSINORE - The Riverside County coroner's office today identified a 75-year-old driver who died when he apparently suffered a medical emergency and crashed into multiple parked vehicles and residences in Canyon Lake. The crash happened about 8:15 p.m. Friday when a vehicle was heading east at a high speed on Canyon Lake Drive near Sloop Drive, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. "The driver suffered an apparent medical emergency, and his vehicle left the roadway, colliding with the parked vehicles and residences,'' the sheriff's department said in a press release. The Riverside County Fire Department said the vehicle landed on its side, trapping a person inside who suffered major injuries and had to be freed from the wreckage.
