Police investigate fatal hit-and run crash in Hemet

Authorities continued Sunday, April 18, to investigate a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in Hemet. It happened at about 3:15 a.m. Saturday on Sanderson Avenue near Fruitvale Avenue, according to the Hemet Police Department. Police said a woman in her mid-to-late 30s was crossing or standing in the roadway when she was struck by a brown or tan sedan driven by an unidentified woman. When first responders arrived at the scene, they performed life-saving measures on the woman, but she later died at a hospital. Officers searched the area for the suspect vehicle but came up empty. “Traffic investigators are following up on leads and obtaining video from a nearby gas station which may help identify the suspect and the vehicle,” Sgt.
