Murrieta residents who attend the city’s signatures and other special events heard some good news at the bimonthly city council meeting as the council approved the paving of the northern dirt parking area for the Town Square Amphitheater.Thousands of cars each year fill the bumpy and dusty dirt parking area north of Town Square Park and east of the city hall to enter the park and enjoy the amphitheater’s special events. Currently, there is a paved parking lot in front of city hall, but during special events, it is often completely filled. The parking lot contract, totaling $2,345,756 awarded to DeArk E&C, Inc., will also include a landscaped monument from a new entrance off Kalmia Street and Jefferson Ave. with video boards announcing upcoming events in Murrieta.Brian Crawf
