Hemet City Council adopts Vision Zero Initiative

In 2021 Congress passed and President Biden signed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act which includes Safe Streets and Roads for All grant funding for local jurisdictions to reduce roadway fatalities and serious injuries. The deadline to apply for Federal Fiscal Year 2026 funding was May 26, and on May 12 the Hemet City Council voted 4-0 with Tom Lodge absent to adopt the Vision Zero Initiative for the city.Applicants for Safe Streets and Roads for All funding must have an eligible action plan.
