IEC receives EVMWD design contract for Tomlin Pipeline replacement

Infrastructure Engineering Corporation has been awarded the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District contract for the design of the Tomlin Pipeline replacement project. The EVMWD board voted 5-0, March 25, to award IEC a $200,917 contract for the design work. The total approved expenditures of $238,624 also include $36,702 for staff time and $1,005 for overhead. The Tomlin Pipeline was constructed in 1964 and is currently a steel water main 6 inches in diameter. Most of the pipeline was constructed within a dirt roadway, and it is located within a utility easement 20 feet wide. Erosion along the alignment has caused parts of the pipe to become exposed to the elements, which has caused corrosion issues and is compromising the structural integrity of the pipeline.
